About the Brand

When we say that Legendary Foods blend science and nature, we aren't kidding. We make best tasting keto and low-carb snacks and nut butters.

Looking to nature is a great place to start when you're crafting foods, especially healthy snack foods, nut mixes and nut butters. But only as long as you don't confuse the fact that just being found in nature doesn't mean an ingredient is good for human health. Cyanide, arsenic, uranium and snake venom are all found in nature but bad for human health.

Choosing the right ingredients

Next, we look at biochemistry and science to carefully choose suppliers and ingredients in order to create the foods that meet our standards. Notice that we DON'T say we use "only high quality ingredients". Every food company on earth says that - including companies that fill their products with tons of sugar and other stuff we shouldn't be eating. What does "high quality" even mean anyway? We've never been able to figure that out.

Instead, we combine ingredients that are found in nature but that also pass the test of scientific scrutiny. If they aren't good for human health we don't use them - no matter how good they taste. That means not using dark roasted nuts which contain higher amounts of damaged fats. Instead we use nuts that have lower levels of heat applied in order to keep their fats undamaged. Our ingredients have to pass a strict list of requirements, to be included in our products.

How do we know which nuts to use?

By submitting our ingredients to lipid peroxidation testing which actually measures the quality of the fats within the nuts. It also means being very choosy about the sweeteners we use, to avoid contributing empty calories or cause digestive upset.

At Legendary Foods, we craft our nut butters and nut snacks for ourselves and people like us, who really do care about what they're putting in their bodies. We love being a part of the community of people who want to live Legendary lives.
